Earlier this week, Mazree officially became part of SpendMend. It’s a big moment, both a natural next step for Mazree and a meaningful leap forward for the health systems we serve.
This move marks a major milestone for me on two levels. As Chief Product Officer at SpendMend, I recognize how seamlessly Mazree complements our broader platform. And as the founder of Mazree, I feel a deep sense of gratitude for the dedication of the team that helped build it.
When I founded Mazree in 2011, the mission was simple: help hospitals recover value from surplus medical equipment in a smarter, more sustainable way. What started as a better way to manage resale has grown into a full asset recovery platform, trusted by many large health systems across the U.S. Along the way, we’ve built strong relationships, learned from our clients, and developed tools we’re incredibly proud of, including Smart Auctions, the Trade-In Desk, internal redeployment, and more.
SpendMend has spent over 30 years helping healthcare organizations find savings, improve visibility, and illuminate dark data across finance, pharmacy, and supply chain. Their mission is to help hospitals improve patient care through better cost cycle management. It is a mission I share deeply, and one of the many reasons this partnership makes sense.
Across the country, health systems are sitting on millions of dollars in unused or retired medical equipment. I’ve seen firsthand how reclaiming those dollars can directly support patient care, whether it’s reinvesting in clinical staff, updating essential equipment, or expanding access to services.
