Last month, we announced that we’ve achieved HITRUST Implemented, 1-year (i1) Certification to Manage Data Protection and Mitigate Cybersecurity Threats.
Certification demonstrates that several SpendMend assets are leveraging a set of curated controls to protect against current and emerging threats. The HITRUST i1 Validated Assessment and Certification helps organizations address cybersecurity challenges and remain cyber resilient over time.
Our current certification spans broadly across SpendMend software applications, systems and databases including Data Capture & Processing; Data Storage; Analytics; Online Portal (including Profit Recovery Solutions and Medical Device Tracking); Trulla Procurement and Analytics Software; Trulla Direct; and Rebate Insight.
Despite the critical importance of the HITRUST program there are still many lingering questions and much misinformation about the program. I will use this blog as an opportunity to address some of the high-level questions associated with the certification.
What is HITRUST i1 Certification?
HITRUST certification is the gold standard for healthcare data protection. The certification program is designed to ensure that organizations properly manage risk and protect sensitive information. HITRUST certification requires organizations to meet strict standards for data protection, including compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Why Does HITRUST i1 Certification Matter?
As a trusted partner for top healthcare systems in the US, SpendMend understands the critical importance of data security. We have taken proactive and significant measures to ensure the security of our clients’ data, including investing heavily in technology, implementing security controls, and conducting regular security assessments. By achieving HITRUST certification for so many of our tools, we are able to provide an additional layer of assurance to our clients that we are meeting their rigorous standards for data protection.
In addition, our completion of HITRUST certification sets SpendMend apart from our competition. Our clients can be assured that we take data security and privacy seriously and have gone above and beyond to protect their data.
